University of Calcutta: PhD Programme @ www caluniv ac in

University of Calcutta invites applications for the course of PhD Programme:

 

Eligibility:

  • Candidates (including those working in various projects under departmental faculties but yet to register for PhD) having degree in Bachelor of Technology (subject to provision of 4.4 of PhD regulation) or Engineering (any stream) or Master of Science (any stream without NET/ GATE/ M.Phil.)

Admission process:

  • PhD eligibility test (PET) to be held on 26th September, Thursday, 2013 at 2 pm in the Department of Polymer Science and Technology, 92 A. P. C Road, Kolkata – 700009.Venue of the PET: 2nd year B. Tech class room of the department (in 2nd Floor of Applied Chemistry Building).
  • The PET will be of 50 marks in Multiple Choice Question format of 1 hour duration.
  • The name of the successful candidates will be displayed on 27/ 09/ 2013 at 15 noon on the notice board near the administrative office of the department in ground floor.
  • Successful candidates will have to appear for an interview in the room of the Head of the Department at 12 noon on 30/ 09/ 2012.
  • Candidates having degree in Master of Science with NET/ GATE/ M.Phil. or candidates having degree in Master of Engineering or Technology need not sit for PET and they may directly appear for the interview on 30/ 09/ 2013.
  • Successful candidates (in PET and/ or interview) will be eligible to register for their PhD in the Department of Polymer Science and Technology.

How to apply:

  • Filled up application form (form may be downloaded from the University webpage http://caluniv.ac.in/Phd_Dlit/application_frame.htm) along with Rupees 100/ paid through a challan (obtainable from sales counter of college street campus of the University) may be sent to the Head of the Department, Department of Polymer Science and Technology, UCSTA, University of Calcutta, 92, A. P. C Road, Kolkata- 700009 and it should reach the Department by 25/ 09/ 2013. No TA/ DA shall be paid to the candidates appearing at PET or interview. Research interest and area of works of individual faculties may be seen from departmental website (www.pstunical.org and www.caluniv.ac.in). The reservation of SC/ ST/ OBC etc. will be applicable as per University rules.
  • Total number of seats: 15

How to apply:

  • Candidates applying for the same optional subjects at different colleges should submit separate application in the prescribed form .
  • Application forms can be down loaded from the website www.keralauniversity.ac.in
  • Filled in application with relevant documents and University pay-in-slip Rs. 250/- (Rupees Two hundred and fifty only) or a single DD for Rs.260/- (Rupees Two hundred and sixty only) towards Registration Fee and cost of application, in favour of the Finance Officer, University of Kerala from SBT/State District Co-operative Bank at Thiruvananthapuram should be sent to the PRINCIPAL of the concerned college.
  • SC/ST candidates must pay fees of Rs. 100/-(Rupees Hundred only), and Rs. 110/- (Rupees One hundred and ten only) if paid by DD.
  • Separate applications and pay-in-slip/DD are necessary for applying in different colleges.
  • NOTE: (i) Creamy layer Certificate will not be accepted instead of Caste and Income Certificate. (ii) If there are not sufficient numbers of applicants (5) for a course at a college, then the course will not be conducted in that college.

Selection process:

Karnataka State Open University: Ph. D

Applications are invited for the admission in Ph. D in various courses through Karnataka State Open University (KSOU).

Eligibility: 

  • Candidates with Master’s Degree from Karnataka State Open University or any other University, with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/CAT-1 and Physically Challenged candidates) in aggregate or equivalent grade, can apply.
  • The teachers employed in University / affiliated colleges before 31-03-1992 and are continuing in service on a regular basis shall be permitted if they have a minimum of 50% of marks at the Master’s Degree level.

Selection Process:

  • Selection of candidates for PhD programmes is based on Centralized Entrance Test, Interview and marks obtained in the Qualifying Examinations in the Ratio of 50:50 and overall minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/CAT-1) and as per Merit Cum Reservation Policy.
  • Those Candidates who have qualified for the U.G.C/ CSIR (JRF) Examination / NET / SLET / GATE / Teacher Fellowship holder / M. Phil degree holder and candidates who are working under sponsored Major Research Projects are exempted from the Entrance Test. The selection of these candidates will be based on their performance in the interview and marks obtained in the Qualifying Examinations in the Ratio of 50:50.

  • An electronic version of prospectus can be downloaded from the website www.ignou.ac.in and submitted along with IPO.DD of Rs 400.
  • Applications shall be accompanied by a D.D./Challan towards the prescribed fee. Duly filled in applications shall be submitted in two sets along with the required documents on or before 17th August 2013 to the Chairperson of the concerned P.G Department, K.S.O.U, Mukthagangothri, Mysore-06 without fine and with a penal fee of Rs. 1,000/- on or before 24th August 2013

Applications are invited for the admission in Diploma in Elementary education Programme at Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi.

Eligibility:

  • Untrained teachers teaching in permanent positions at the primary/elementary level with a teaching experience of 2 years or above.
