Applications are invited for admissions into PhD programme of Academic year 2013-14 in the following streams at Christ University, Bangalore:

  1. Post Graduate Degree (or equivalent) in Commerce or Management with at least 55% marks in aggregate.
  2. M.Phil. Degree in Commerce with at least 50% in aggregate (Unless exempted under the Rules of the University)

Rules for Exemption from M.Phil. for admission to PhD Programs. *
(As approved by the Academic Council in its meeting held on 25th May 2009/28th Sept.2011)

Eligibility requirements:

  1. Post Graduate Degree in the related field of Research with not less than 55% marks.
  2. The candidate must have completed and/or being involved as a Research Associate/ Fellow, in a major research project (sponsored by UGC or any other approved institution) of specified duration of not less than 2 years.
  3. The candidates who are doing such research project must have completed at least one year of such research.
  4. The research project done / being done must be in the faculty area of the PhD Course applied for. Approved Institution for the purpose may be any national or international organization engaged in the field of Research and having recognition as an approved body of research.
  5. **Candidates seeking admission to PhD in Commerce/Management based on membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India / Institute of Cost & Works Accountants of India/ Institute of Company Secretaries of India must have not less than 5 years of post qualification professional / industry experience, as may be acceptable to the University, as equivalent to Research.

PhD Course Requirements:
Candidates provisionally admitted to PhD course on the basis of above said exemption, shall, as part of additional course work and for confirmation of the admission, pass a written examination on the following papers with not less than 55% marks in each paper.

Paper I – Advanced Research Methodology. For 50 Marks of 2 Hrs duration.
Paper II – Analytical paper on the Subject of Research. For 50 Marks of 2 Hrs duration.

The written examinations shall be held within 3 months of enrolment. The syllabus for the papers will be based on the Research Proposal as determined by the CUCR in consultation with the Dean of the subject faculty.

Application Requirement:
Application has to be made in the prescribed format with a separate letter seeking exemption from M.Phil qualification, duly supported by relevant documents relating to research experience.

Fee for Exemption:
In addition to the normal fee applicable to PhD course, the candidate shall be required to pay an exemption fee of Rs.5000/- for processing the application and for the conduct of the written examination.

Common Proficiency Test (CPT) for CA Course at ICAI

Applications are  invited for Common Proficiency Test for admission into Chartered Accountancy course. The Common Proficiency Test will be held on Sunday, 15th December, 2013 in two sessions at various centers The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India:

How to Apply:

  • Application forms and Information brochure may be obtained from the Additional Secretary (Examinations),The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, ICAI Bhawan, Indraprastha Marg, New Delhi – 110 002 on payment of Rs. 1000/- (Rs.500/- towards examination fees and Rs. 500/- towards cost of application form and Information brochure) per application form.
  • The fees for candidates opting for Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Doha and Bahrain centres will be US $160 (US $ 150 towards examination fee and US $ 10 towards cost of application form and information brochure) or its equivalent Indian Currency.
  • The fees for the candidates opting for Kathmandu centre are required to remit INR.1350/- (INR 850/- towards examination fees and INR 500/- towards the cost of application form and information brochure) or its equivalent foreign Currency.
  • Duly filled in application forms may be sent so as to reach the Additional Secretary (Examinations) at New Delhi.
  • Applications duly filled in will be received by hand delivery at the offices of Institute at New Delhi and at the Decentralized Offices of the Institute at Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Kanpur, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Jaipur and Pune upto 28th October, 2013.
  • The candidates who fill up the examination application form online at http://icaiexam.icai.org from 7th October, 2013 (10.00 hrs) to 28th October, 2013 (17.30 hrs) and remit the fee online by using either VISA or MASTER Credit/ Debit Card shall not be charged Rs. 500/- (i.e. cost of application form fees).

ICAI: Eligibility Test for Post Qualification Course on ISA

A list of candidates, who have completed ISA Professional Training from 1st April 2012 to 30th September 2012, would also be hosted by 15th October 2012
How to Apply:
Candidates desirous of taking this ISA ET have to submit the Online ISA ET Form (by giving their ISA No. and password) that would be available on the Committee Portal at http://cit.icai.org from 15th to 31st October, 2012
