  • Admission Test:

Apply and appear for any one of the following written tests:

  1. Register for XAT 2014 to be conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur on 5th January 2014
  2. CAT to be conducted by IIMs during 16th October – 11th November 2013.

Applicants are required to follow the XAT/CAT advertisements respectively and apply in time. Registering for XAT or CAT is a prerequisite for applying to LIBA’s PGDM program

If you have already received your LIBA ID and Password, then login as per Step 4. A scanned copy of candidate’s photo and signature (not exceeding 50 KB ) is needed while filling up the application form.
  • Login with your LIBA ID and Password.
  • Take a print-out of the Payment Advice form.
  • Mention your LIBA-ID, Name and XAT-ID / CAT-ID on the reverse of the DD and send your DD / IMS receipt along with the Payment Advice form to: The Admissions Office, LIBA, Loyola College, Nungambakkam, Chennai – 600 034.

Selection process:
Candidates who have applied to LIBA will be short listed only on the basis of their XAT 2014 / CAT 2013 scores. Short listed candidates will be called for Group Discussion and interview for final selection at Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Mumbai. Eligibility:

  • A candidate for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in a subject must hold a Master’s Degree in the subject concerned of this. University or an equivalent degree of another University recognized by this University Explanation – In exceptional cases, a candidate holding a Master’s Degree in an allied subject may also be considered for admission to PhD by the Departmental Research Committee.
  • A candidate having at least 55% of marks at the Master’s degree level shall be eligible for admission to the PhD Programme. For SC/ST and Physically Challenged/Disabled candidates qualifying marks shall be 50% at Master’s degree level.
  • In Faculty of Ayurveda, however, a candidate having MD (Ayurveda) degree in the subject concerned or equivalent degree of another University recognized by this University shall be eligible for admission to the PhD programme in Ayurveda.

Candidates have to complete all the three steps for their candidature to be considered for admission.

Admission Procedure: Ph.D. admission shall be conducted in two phases.

Phase I:

  • The feasible vacant seats available for fresh Ph.D. admission in broad sub-disciplines of each department shall be advertised category wise by the Registrar, initially inviting application only from those candidates with CSIR/UGC JRF/INSPIRE fellowship valid till September 15 of that year and fulfilling the eligibility criteria prescribed in section 4.
  • These feasible vacant seats in each department shall be first filled by eligible JRF/INSPIRE applicants without any entrance test.
  • Where the number of JRF/INSPIRE applicants exceeds the number of feasible vacant seats, the seats shall be filled through a merit list resulting from an entrance test administered to these JRF applicants.

Phase II:

  • After all the JRF applicants in each department have been considered, the remaining vacant seats shall be re-advertised category wise by the Registrar inviting applications from all candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria prescribed in section 4.
  • For each department, a category wise list of eligible applicants shall be made available on the University website (www.lkouniv.ac.in). These applications shall be asked to appear for a Ph.D. Entrance Test on the date and place(s) fixed by the Admission Committee and notified by the University.
  • Based on the marks obtained in this entrance test, separate category wise merit list shall be prepared and the remaining Ph.D. vacant seats shall be filled through these category wise merit lists.

  • Candidates whose name will appear in the provisional selected list would have to report in the concerned department of University of Lucknow along with their all original documents within four days of result declaration. If they fail to do so, their seats will be declared vacant in the next phase of Ph.D. admission procedure.
  • If the number of J.R.F. applicants exceeds the number of vacant seats, an entrance test will be held. Candidates will be selected on the basis of their merit in the test. Dates of the entrance test will be declared after September 23, 2013.

Applications are invited for admission into the PhD Programme and subsequent research work leading to PhD degree in Museology at Department of Museology, University of Calcutta:
Eligibility: Master’s Degree in relevant subjects.

How to Apply:
Candidates desiring to pursue research work in the Department may apply in the prescribed pro-forma (can be downloaded from the University website) by paying Rs. 100/- through a Challan obtainable from the University Cash Counter by 3rd October 2013.

Admission Procedure:

  • Eligible candidates (having Master’s Degree in relevant subjects) will have to appear in an Entrance Test of 100 marks, to be held in this Department on 8th November 2013, comprising a written examination, followed by an interview.
  • Those candidates who have already passed UGC (JRF) Examinations/ NET/ SET/ SLET or equivalent examinations or passed the M.Phil. or equivalent examination need not appear in the written examination and can directly appear in the interview.
  • Candidates getting 40% and above in the written examination will qualify for interview of 25 marks. Date for the interview would be displayed in the Departmental Notice Board.

  • The Written Examination of one and a half hour duration shall comprise 5 Questions of 4 marks each, based on a relevant paragraph to assess research aptitude, 15 Multiple Choice Type Questions of 2 marks each, from the core subjects; and 25 marks for a Research Proposal. There will be no negative markings.
  • Questions would be based mainly on the first three papers of the current MA/ M.Sc. Museology syllabus, viz., Organization & Management, Exhibition & Education, and Care & Conservation, though relevant other areas like, Basic Computer Applications, General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Analytical Abilities, etc., may also be covered.

CMAT – 2014-15 (First Test) for Admission into Management Programmes at AICTE

Applications are invited twice a year for facilitating institutions to select suitable students for admission in all management programmes All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) conducts National level Common Management Admission Test (CMAT):

AICTE has now decided to conduct CMAT in Foreign Countries for facilitating eligible NRIs / PIOs and foreign nationals to appear in CMAT for admission in institutions in India following CMAT merit list for 2014-15 under special provisions after completion of centralized admission in management institutions.

The candidates will be given two opportunities to appear in CMAT; first in September, 2013 and Second in February, 2014. The better of two scores will be used for admission for 2014-15.

Eligibility: Graduates in any discipline or Final year students whose result will be declared before commencement of admission for 2014 can apply for CMAT online.

Note: In case of foreign nationals the eligibility will be as per recognition and equivalence standards notified by Association of Indian Universities.

Selection Process:

  • The detailed merit list will be provided to the respective State Governments for allotting the students through central counseling or otherwise as per their notified admission procedure.
  • In case there is no central counseling, scores awarded will be used for admission in the AICTE approved Institutes / University Departments.

Registration:

  • Online registration window opens from 3rd July, 2013 to 21st August, 2013 on website www.aicte-cmat.in
  • Choice of 3 dates and 3 cities of India for online examination in the order of preference.
