MIDS, Chennai : PhD

Applications are invited for their research programme with four ICSSR and one EA Fellowships, in Social Sciences (Economics / Sociology / History / Political Science / Anthropology). 

Eligibility:

  • Postgraduation with, at least, 55% marks in (Economics, Sociology, History, Political Science, and Anthropology). Inter-disciplinary proposals are also welcome.
  • Age: The upper age limit for a doctoral fellow is below 35 years as on September 1, 2013 (relaxable by 5 years in case of SC/ST). For teachers and professional staff of research institute holding regular posts, the upper age limit would be 45 years.
  • Candidate should have cleared National Eligibility Test (NET) or obtained M. Phil. or have published two research articles in reputed journals in social sciences (please attach reprints).
  • Scholars are eligible to register only after a six-month Pre-PhD Foundation Course. In case of the non-clearance of Foundation Course/non-registration, his/her fellowship may be discontinued.
  • The employed applicants have to take consent from their employer at the time of submitting their application form for the award of the fellowship.
  • Only those employed candidates, who are the employed in an organization, which follows the UGC or Central/State Government norms, would be eligible to apply for the fellowship.
  • Candidates who got JRF from UGC can also apply. They have to apply for fellowship directly to UGC to get the fellowship through MIDS.
  • Reservation as per the norms of UGC.

University of Calcutta, Kolkata: Self Financed B.Ed. Course

Applications are invited from all the eligible candidates for admission into NCTE approved Self Financed B.Ed. course for the Academic Year 2013 – 2014 at University of Calcutta, Kolkata:

Eligibility: Candidates must have Bachelor degree / Master degree examination with at least 50% marks in aggregate in case of candidates belonging to General category, 45% marks for PH & 40% marks for SC and ST Categories of Calcutta University or other recognized Universities with Home Science as one of the Subject

NCDC, New Delhi: Master of Public Health (Field Epidemiology)

Applications are invited from all the eligible candidates for admission into Master of Public Health (Field Epidemiology) course on full time basis affiliated to the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi for the Academic Year 2013 – 2014 at National Centre for Disease Control, New Delhi:

Eligibility:
Candidates possessing MBBS degree from any recognized University. The course is open to both Fresh as well as In-service MBBS Graduates

In-service personnel with MBBS working in health institutions / organizations in Central / State governments or Public Sector having 5 years experience, of which at least 3 years must be in public health activities are eligible. Such candidates, at the time of counseling for admission, would need to furnish a letter from their employer that, if they are admitted, they would be relieved for two years for undertaking the course on a full-time basis at NCDC

Age Limit: The upper age limit is 45 years for in-service candidates and 35 years for others as on August 1st 2013

Selection Process: Selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of entrance test

Admissions into BEd course 2013-14: University of Kolkata

University of Kolkata invites applications from graduate candidates in a (10+2+3) pattern in prescribed forms obtainable from the  University Sales Counter from March 25th, 2013 on payment of Rs.50/-and Rs. 25/-(twenty five)  for SC/ST/PH students, are invited for admission to the B.Ed. Course of the academic session 2013-14:

 

 

Qualification :

Applicants (Freshers’only ), must have Bachelor degree and/or Master degree  examination (with at least 50% marks in aggregate in case of candidates belonging to  General category,45% marks for Physically Challenged category & 40% marks for Scheduled  Caste and Scheduled Tribe Categories) of Calcutta University or other recognized University  with any two school subjects from the following: 1)Bengali 2) English 3) Sanskrit 4)  Mathematics 5) History 6) Geography 7) Accountancy and Book Keeping 8) Economics 9)  Education 10) Political Science 11) Hindi,12) Urdu and 13) Arabic.

 

Requirement of 50%  (fifty) marks shall not apply for persons appointed as teachers prior to the commencement of  the NCTE, Second Amendment Regulations, 2010.

 

How to apply:

Applications complete in all respects along with  self attested copies of certificates and testimonials must be submitted to the Office of the  Secretary, U.C.A.C., at Shahid Kshudiram Sikshaprangan, 1,Reformatory Street,(Ground  floor),Kolkata-700027 on or before April 12th, 2013 upto 3.00 p.m. on all working days.

 

Admission to the said course is based strictly on merit followed by counseling.

There is a relaxation of age for maximum of 5(five) years for students belonging to  Scheduled Caste ,Schedule Tribe and Physically Challenged categories.

Calcutta University Students:- 95% and for Non- C.U. Students:-5%  will be followed.  Only one seat is allotted for each of the following subjects: i.e. Bengali, English, History and Education for students of OTHER UNIVERSITY.

 

Selection will be made strictly as per University norms and usual reservation rules(SC- 22%, ST-6% and PC-3%) will be applicable. Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe applicants  from the other states will not get the reservation facilities of S.C./S.T.

 

 

Selection List:

Provisional merit list will be published on 12.06.2013 after 3.00 pm. on the Notice   Board of Alipore Campus, C.U. The date of counseling and admission schedule will be announced on the date of  publication of the merit list. Names of the selected candidates who will fail to report on 1st July 2013 and who  will remain absent continuously for fifteen days without prior information will be automatically struck off.
